My Grandfather Edward Eugene Marshall has always been a mystery in my family. He didn’t really talk much about his parents to his family. He didn’t really know his father growing up. he knew his mother and would go see her in Austin, TX. Edward Eugene Marshall was born on 26 May 1918 probably in New Waverly, TX. In YDNA his SNP is R-Y32298 which is a European SNP found in German and Poland area. His mother was Stephanie Stella Budzisz who was the daughter of Stephen Budzisz and Apolonia Wojcik. Edward had one full sister sibling name Pauline Marshall who was just a little older than Edward. Edward must have had a rough time in his younger years because he had left home at a young age. The Mystery of who his father was has puzzled many people over the years. He did have a step farther name Stash Vetuski, but according to Edward he wasn’t nice at all to his mother or to him. Edward had the Vetuski last name as a small child, but him and his sister Pauline ended up changing it to Marshall. In some stories that was passed down was his father was a Marshall from Bremond, TX and it was spelled the Polish way of Marshall which is Marszalek. In a Social-Security- Application that Pauline and Edward did when Edward was 18, he put down his father was Frank Marshall of Bremond, TX. The only Frank Marszalek “Marshall” in Bremond, TX was the son of Peter Marszalek and Annie Borek Marszalek. Frank Marszalek was born on 22 Mar 1897 and Died on 18 Mar 1918. Which Stella would have been 7 months pregnant with Edward at the time. Another in Question is Frank’s older brother Adam Marszalek. Adam Marszalek died on 13 Dec 1917 and Stella would have been about 3 or 4 months pregnant with Edward. AutosomalDNA from AncestryDNA, 23ANDME, and FamilytreeDNA all show that Edward Eugene Marshall would be a grandson to Peter Marszalek and Annie Borek Marshall based on their other children having grandchildren or great grandchildren matching up very close to Edward’s daughter and Grandson with 1 match being a first cousin once removed to Edward’s daughter. Either way it’s hard to say which one is the actual father to Edward Eugene Marshall.

The story about Adam Marszalek death was, He was murdered on his wedding day by a Mr. Kloss who was Jealous of the women Adam was getting married to. Mr. Kloss hit Adam on the head with a Rock and then took off running in fear of the law. However, the Polish family never reported the crime to law. If the women that Adam was married to on his wedding day was Stella, then this would make sense. The Polish Catholic Church would send Stella a recent widow away to another Texas town with a large Polish family to with another recent widow Man who was much older than she was. Not to say this is true or not, it does seem to fit the story. The Story about Frank Marszalek was he was working out in the fields as a farmer when a group of men came around and beat him up. Frank ended up making it his house and later died.

Photos have been found for Adam Marszalek and Frank Marszalek. Pauline and Edward look more like Frank than they do of Adam. Plus with the Social Security Application when Edward was 18, Pauline and Edward put down Frank as their father.
