Hiram Rhodes Revels

Hiram Rhodes Revels was born 27 Sep 1827 and died 16 Jan 1901 and was a America Republican politician, minister in the African Methodist Episcopal Church. He was born free in North Carolina and later moved to Ohio, where he was voted before the Civil War. He was elected by the Mississippi legislature to the United States Senate as a Republican to represent Mississippi in 1870-71 during the reconstruction era, as he was the first African American to serve in either house of the United States Congress. Hiram Rhodes Revels had no male sons and just had daughters, it’s impossible to get yDNA testers from him to test. It wasn’t hard to get a direct Male tester from his brother to test. Which I was able to get a Black Male Revels tester to take the YDNA test and had known that Hiram Rhodes Revels was his Great Uncle. His YDNA Results to be a E-M2 but didn’t match up to any Revels. Instead, he matched up to two Black men who carry the last name Blount who came from the Slaves of the Blount family who lived near the Revels. In a newspaper found on Newspapers.com it had stated Hiram’s father was Elijah Revel 1770. This is pretty much the same Elijah Revel who was a base-born child of Savory Revels. Savory Revels must have had a child from one of the Slaves from the Blount Family who was a E-M2. We’re still currently waiting for BigY Results from Hiram Rhodes Revels great Nephew.
